Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Context handles your data, in the words the product uses. If it changes, we will say so here and update the date above. The Legal & Disclosures page carries the wider terms; this page governs anything about your data.

1. What we collect

• Your account — email, a hashed password (never the password itself), the plan you are on, and whether your email is verified.
• Your profile and settings — trading style, focus tickers, account size and risk per trade, chart defaults, the alert types you turn on, and the Discord webhook you may add.
• What you make in Context — strategies you build or arm, theses, staged trades, the Contractor's picks and their receipts, paper-desk trades on the intraday and swing desks, Studio backtests, journal entries, and your chat history with Connie.
• Your library — files you upload for Connie to read, and the index built from them.
• Connected-broker data — if you connect Alpaca, either the API keys you enter or the access token Alpaca issues when you choose Sign in with Alpaca, and the account, position and order data needed to run the paper desks, show your fills, place and manage the protective orders you use, or, where you have acknowledged live mode, to read your live account. When you connect by signing in with Alpaca, Context checks that account's orders every few seconds so your fills reach you. You can disconnect at any time under Trading Profile, which deletes the stored keys or token; it does not cancel orders or close positions at Alpaca. You can also revoke Context's access from your Alpaca account. We never take custody of funds and never move money.
• Usage and diagnostics — which features you use, which signals were shown, and basic server logs so the product can be kept reliable. Secrets are redacted from logs.
• How Forge is used — when you describe an indicator in plain English, we record what happened to that request: whether it built, needed a clarifying question, or was refused; the reason our model gave for refusing; how many characters you wrote; and which of a fixed list of concepts your description mentioned (for example news or options). The words you type are not stored. Each record carries a one-way hash of your account rather than your identity, so we can tell how many accounts ran into the same gap without reading anyone's ideas. We use these records for one thing: deciding what Forge should learn to build next.
• Bounties you post — asking Connie to try an idea on the bounty board is a Forge request, handled exactly as above. Posting it is a separate step you choose, and only then are your words kept: we store the text of the bounty, when you posted it, its status, and your account as its author. If you upvote a bounty we store that your account voted for it. A bounty is visible only to you and to Context's reviewer until it is approved; once approved, its text is shown publicly on the bounty board, never with your name, email or handle, and the board shows how many people voted, never who. Context may decline to publish a bounty; it never edits your words.
• Listings you publish — publishing an indicator from your library copies it, as it is at that moment, into the public marketplace under your handle, with the symbol and timeframe you chose, the original ask you wrote, and your notes (every version of them). A person at Context reviews it first; once approved, all of it is public, and Context records every signal it fires and scores it. That record belongs to the marketplace, not to your account: you cannot edit or delete it, and you can retire a listing at any time, which stops the tracking and keeps the record visible, marked retired.

2. How we use it

To operate the Service for you: read the tape and grade signals in your style, write your thesis, price the Contractor's picks against your risk budget, run your backtests, keep your paper desks and receipts, answer you in chat, deliver the alerts you turned on, bill your plan, and keep the system secure.

3. How it is kept apart

Context is built for many traders at once, and one rule governs the stores: an account never retrieves, sees, counts, or is billed for another account's material. Your library, theses, setups, paper trades, receipts, chat and settings are stored under your account alone. Anonymous visitors see the public pages and nothing of anyone's. The bounty board is the one place where words you wrote are shown to other traders: only the text of bounties you chose to post, only after review, and never with who posted or voted.

4. How it is stored

Your data is stored in our application databases and files, reached over encrypted connections behind Cloudflare. We apply reasonable technical safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third parties

We use third-party services to deliver Context: market-data providers (Alpaca, OPRA), news providers (Benzinga, Finnhub), your brokerage (Alpaca) when you connect it, Stripe for payments (we never see your card number), Discord when you add a webhook, cloud AI model providers that process the text of your questions and the market context sent with them, and hosting and delivery infrastructure. They process data only as needed to provide their function. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Your choices

You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings → Delete account: this removes your account, your library and its index, your trades, staged trades, alerts, receipts, chat history and settings, every bounty you posted, and your votes on other bounties. You can also withdraw any bounty you posted, at any time, from the bounty board: it is deleted, not hidden. There are two exceptions to deletion. First, a bounty Context has already shipped: that entry stays on the public roadmap and your account is removed from it, because other people voted on it and it records what Context built — it never carried your name, email or handle. Second, published marketplace listings: when you delete your account, each live listing is retired and its record stays public under your handle, which is never given to anyone else; your original ask and notes are deleted, and anything still waiting for review is deleted with it. You can disconnect a broker or remove a Discord webhook at any time from Settings. You can also request a copy of your data by contacting us.

7. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period unless retention is legally required. Deleting your account removes your stores at once, subject to legal retention requirements and backups that expire on their own schedule. The Forge records described in section 1 are a third exception, alongside the two in section 6: they contain nothing you typed and are not part of your account's stores, so they are kept as aggregate operational data and are not removed when you delete your account.

8. Children

Context is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
